    Acocks Green Village Town Warden

    Deadline: Friday 27th February at midday

    30 hours per week (over 4 days) £7.50 per hour (£11,700 pa) Contract initially until December 2016.

    The successful candidate will coordinate the ‘Storenet’ radio scheme and interact effectively with businesses, and to provide a liaison between the CCTV Centre, Police and the BID office. You will be a highly visible presence, through regular street patrols, to create a managed feeling of ‘well-being’ in the Town Centre and be a source of information and assistance to the general public with reference to all aspects of the Town Centre.

    You will complete a daily log and maintain a pocket notebook to record crimes and street nuisance problems and monitor and deter Illegal Street trading by checking licences of street traders. The role will include discouraging street drinkers and beggars by moving them on, and nurturing relationships with all BID businesses with a programme of monthly visits.

    The post will also undertake any additional or other duties which are within the skills and competence of the post holder and appropriate to the post, as directed by the BID Manager

    The experience we require must include previous experience of working in a town warden/security/store detective/HM forces/police role and experience of a customer facing environment. We expect you to have knowledge of the SIA and to have previously held, or currently hold an SIA licence.

    We expect you to have excellent interpersonal skills, and be physically fit and well-presented and prepared to wear full uniform at all times when on duty.

    As the role suggests, you should have excellent vigilance and observation skills, be punctual and reliable, be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. It’s also essential that you demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and to work extra hours on occasion (special events)
