Welcome to the Acocks Green Village BID website!

Each month we will be questioning shop owners and putting their answers on our website. This month, it’s Hazel from The Swan Trio.

    Q. Hazel Wilson of The Swan Trio – How did you come up with the name of your business?

We are 3 Businesses in one shop. We came from The Swan Market in Yardley hence the ‘Swan’ and ‘Trio’

    Q. What was the idea behind The Swan Trio, and what service do you provide to customers?

We worked together in units close to one another. It was suggested by June’s Alterations that we shared the space and rent. We have repair services plus gifts and wool etc.

    Q. So how long have you been trading, and what do your customers say about your service?

The jewellers have been trading for 7 years, June’s which are haberdashery, and Swan Shoe Repairs 3 years. Customers love the type of shop and the variety of stock we have.

    Q. So have you always been located in Acocks Green?

No, we all came 6 years ago from the Yardley Swan Market.

    Q. You seem very passionate about the area; do you have a personal connection?

I live in the area as my mother (June’s), sister and daughter live in Hall Green. We have pride in the area and we want customers to feel happy with us and know that we care.

    Q. Everybody seems to know Swan Trio, do you have a very supportive customer base?

We have loyal customers that have followed us to Acocks Green and new ones that we have had from other shops knowing we are able and willing to do our best.

    Q. So what of the future, where do you see yourself and Swan Trio in 5 year’s time?

With the Smart Route pending, we would like to see improved standards for customers and shops alike to continue in Acocks Green

    Q. Since the Village became a BID (Business Improvement District) two years ago, there have been so many changes for the better; do you think it’s important for businesses such as yourself to invest in their own towns?

     Yes
